Last weekend my husband took me to Shoshoni Yoga Retreat in the Colorado Rockies for my birthday. Shoshoni is an ashram run by a resident staff of yogis who are superstars at vegetarian cooking, yoga, meditation and music.
For two days we indulged ourselves in entire spirit of yoga deep in the beautiful Rockies. It awoken my true self as well as left me feeling confident, relaxed and happy. There’s so much more to yoga than stretching.
Rather than recap all the details, I’ll share with you my top ten list instead:
10. Discovering that Colorado isn’t such a long drive after all. Even with the crazy Nebraska weather.
9. The amazing mountain hikes around the retreat.
8. Bonding with other guests over a cup of chamomile tea.
7. Yoga classes three times a day. Each one extremely good.
6. Starting the day with gorgeous chanting and singing.
5. My one on one meditation session that taught me so much.
4. Discovering amazing vegetarian dishes. I gained 5 pounds.
3. Practicing the new mantras I learned on the meditation walk.
2. Dancing to Shiva on the Saturday night rock out chanting session.
1. Sharing the entire experience with my best friend and life partner.
