The other night I pulled out a journal that was given to me to record my trip to India. Reliving my first Indian taxi ride, wedding, and the beaches at Goa was cathartic. I’ve kept a journal as long as I can remember and I love looking back on my life’s events and remembering how challenges and triumphs played out.
I highly suggest everyone have a journal, even if it’s just to write down a few things each day. Here’s some ideas to help you get started:
- List what you’re grateful that day. You can repeat them day after day. And they can be as small as “I’m grateful for breathing.”
- Jot down how your day went. Did you learn or discover something new about yourself or someone else?
- Write some affirmations that inspire you. One that I like is “I come from greatness. I am greatness. And I attract greatness.”
- Record current prayers. Right now I’m praying for new opportunities and I describe them in great detail.
- Write down inspirational words of advice, nightly dreams, and meditative insights.
- Make a note on new discoveries as you read back on what you wrote in the past. I used up three pages just writing about India again.
- Keep track of synchonicities and intuitions.
