Health Wealth & Happiness
A year ago I created a rather feeble vision board. I didn’t know what I wanted, so it only had a few pictures including one of a woman doing yoga. Living in London, I went to yoga class regularly and loved it. But I somehow fell completely out of practice when we moved to the US.
I’m proud to say a year later and my habits have drastically changed. Perhaps it’s because I came across a yoga mat on sale at Target. But I’d like to say it’s that vision board that lead me to the yoga mat. Now I do yoga daily, attending classes again and it feels amazing.
Writing down your goals is a powerful first step to attaining them. It sets off a chain of events that will change your life. Firstly, it gets you dreaming again and that’s a blast. There are no limits to your goals. If they’re huge, they may not fully happen in your lifetime, but you can set the wheels in motion.
It also forces you to think about your goals and clearly define them. As you know, my goals are “Health Wealth & Happiness” but the more specific the goal, the better my odds are that I’ll achieve it. I recently read about a man from Texas who only asked for an open heart. For years, this is the only wish. And as it turns out, about five years later he got it. He had open heart surgery.
The ways to write down your goals are endless. You can simply jot them down on a piece of paper. Create a visual board so you can see them. Or keep a journal. I use this blog. Just get them out of your head and into a place where you will see them every day. In fact, I think I’ll have another go at that vision board this weekend. I just need to find a good picture of a vineyard in France.
